Cobalt (M42) tools are more resistant to abrasion and can be run at higher cutting temperatures and feed rates than the average high speed steel (HSS) tools. This end mill has a Non Center Cutting end cut and is TiCN coated. TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating has up to 750 Degree F thermal stability. TiCN offers imporved wear resistance to abrasive, adhesive, or difficult to machine materials such as cast iron, aluminum alloys, tool steels, copper, inconel and titanium alloys. TiCN is harder and more impact resistant than TiN due to its low thermal stability, it is recommended to be used in sufficiently cooled and fabricated cuts.
