Variable Index – Corner Radius End Mills

Variable index high-performance carbide end mills with a corner radius combine the versatility and reduced vibration of variable index geometry with the added durability of a rounded cutting edge. Available in 4, 5, 6, and 7 flute configurations, with chipbreaker options on 4, 5, and 6 flute styles for improved chip control in heavy roughing.

Reduced Edge Chipping: The corner radius eliminates the sharp 90° corner found on square end tools, distributing cutting forces more evenly and reducing the stress concentration that leads to chipping and premature wear — especially valuable in interrupted cuts and hardened materials.

Variable Index Stability: Uneven flute spacing breaks up harmonic vibration during cutting, producing smoother finishes and allowing more aggressive feeds without chatter.

Longer Tool Life: The combination of variable index geometry and a rounded corner extends usable tool life compared to standard-index square end tools, particularly in roughing and semi-finishing passes on tougher alloys.
