Spiral Point Plug CNC Style
Spiral point plug taps feature a "gun nose" style point that pushes chips forward, ahead of the tap, rather than evacuating them back through the flutes — making them ideal for through-holes where chips can exit freely on the far side. Available in ANSI and metric thread standards.
Plug Style Threading: Unlike semi-bottoming taps, plug-style taps cut a full thread length from the start, making them the standard choice for through-holes rather than blind or near-bottom applications.
Forward Chip Evacuation: Pushing chips ahead of the cutting action reduces the risk of chip packing and re-cutting, resulting in cleaner threads and longer tool life, particularly in higher-speed CNC tapping.
