Spiral Flute CNC Style
Spiral fluted semi-bottoming taps are cutting tools designed for creating threads in holes that are not blind. These taps are equipped with a unique spiral fluted design that provides several advantages over traditional straight fluted taps. The spiral fluted design allows for the efficient evacuation of chips, reduces heat buildup, and provides a smoother and more accurate tapping operation.
One of the key benefits of spiral fluted semi-bottoming taps is their ability to prevent the tap from bottoming out in the hole, which can cause damage to both the tap and the workpiece. These taps have a shortened thread length, which allows for the creation of threads close to the bottom of the hole, without the risk of the tap going too far. This makes them ideal for applications where a partial thread is required, or where a through-hole must be tapped to a specific depth.
