High Speed Steel Ball End Mills
HSS ball end mills offer a cost-effective option for contouring, 3D profiling, and die/mold work where the added toughness of high speed steel is preferred over carbide's higher speed capability. Available in 2 flute and 4/6 flute configurations.
Material Toughness: HSS resists chipping and fracturing better than carbide, making it a reliable choice for interrupted cuts, less rigid setups, or older equipment running at lower speeds.
2 Flute vs. 4 & 6 Flute: 2 flute tools provide better chip evacuation for deeper contour passes, while 4 and 6 flute versions produce a smoother surface finish, better suited to finishing passes on rounded and contoured surfaces.
